Empowering Excellence Through ISO/IEC 27001 Certification

Published by PINO – Professional International Norms Organization College, Switzerland

In today’s digital world, securing information is more important than ever. As the trusted inspection body under PINO Switzerland, we are excited to share the latest developments regarding the ISO/IEC 27001 standard. This week, significant strides have been made in Switzerland and globally to elevate information security management and strengthen organisational resilience.

ISO/IEC 27001:2022 – Transition Deadline Approaching

ISO/IEC 27001 defines how to set up, run, evaluate, and improve an Information Security Management System (ISMS). The 2022 revision brings key updates—harmonising structure, reducing Annex A controls from 114 to 93, adding modern measures like cloud security and data leakage prevention, and aligning language across clauses. Importantly, organisations worldwide must complete their transition from the 2013 version by 31 October 2025. After this, older certifications expire, and companies without updated compliance will undergo full audits to regain certification.
